Emma Oxtoby – Vice Chairman
When did you join Wetherby Musical Theatre Group?
I joined the group in 2012.
Why did you join Wetherby Musical Theatre Group?
Since leaving school I had only been involved in plays and had missed the big show feel you get with a musical production. I heard about Wetherby Musical Theatre Group through a friend and we both decided to audition for Godspell together.
What’s your earliest memory of Wetherby Musical Theatre Group?
In Godspell there is a scene where we had to pretend to goats and sheep. When our director produced goat and sheep hats for us to wear the whole cast were in hysterics. It was a scene where we couldn’t make eye contact with anyone else on stage!
What has been your favourite show you have seen/been in?
The Full Monty – I don’t think I have ever laughed so much as I did in rehearsals and show week!
What has been your favourite memory so far?
Each shows comes with its own memories!
Godspell – Trying to figure out a way to carry Jesus out of the church at the end of the show.
Full Monty – The amazing outfits and set! The opening song scrap always gave me goosebumps!
Nunsense – Trying to learn how to ballet dance…no one said it had to be good!
What show would you like to see the group put on in the future?
It’s so hard to choose but my top 3 future shows would have to be; Chicago, The Sound of Music and Mamma Mia.
