WMTG Go To Brid

The North East Annual Gala Weekend took place at The Spa Bridlington on the 22nd – 24th April 2016, and 8 ladies of the group attended this event which has become quite an annual pilgrim for WMTG

We stayed at the Park View Hotel on Tennyson Avenue and were looked after marvellously by the hosts Karen and Glenn Holmes who helped to make the whole weekend very enjoyable

A small party of ladies started the weekend early, arriving Friday lunchtime and participating in the organised trip to Hornsea Freeport

Friday evening then saw the start of the main events with the Gala Dinner in the Spa, where Wetherby were seated with our NODA rep Terry Harrison and his wife, enjoying a 3 course meal and entertainment from Dinnington OS with their version of “Around the world in 80 DOS”

Saturday morning we attended a couple of the workshops on offer, singing titled “0 -Singing in 2 hours” with Neil Balfour and Special Effects titled “Workshop of Horrors” with Natasha Jordan

Lunchtime found us having a coffee in the newly refurbished Marine Café and then a trip to our favourite Bridlington shoe shop…..  regrouping later at Raggs restaurant for tea

Saturday evening began back at the Spa with a performance by The White Rose Youth Theatre, “Miracle of New York” and this was followed by the annual ball, dancing and singing until late with Todd Miller and the Joe Loss Orchestra ( a legend in their own time)

Sunday was a more leisurely pace that saw us all returning to the Spa for coffee, the NODA awards and presentation ceremony and a very entertaining guest speaker – an ex police officer

After arousing version of Jerusalem we ended another fabulous Noda conference and waved goodbye to Bridlington, hopefully to return again next year
